section 1 - what do we do with your information

when you create your contact card, the information entered into the various fields is stored in tower’s servers under your secure and unique user identification number (uid). tower uses two of the most secure servers in the world, firebase and cloudKit, to ensure that your information stays safe.


section 2 - consent

how do you get my consent?

when you tap “start connecting” the first time you open the tower ios app, provide tower with personal information in the fields of your contact card, participate in connecting with another user using tower, you imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

if we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

how do I withdraw my consent?

If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for Tower to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by deleting the app off of your device. Tower does not ask you to sign up for an account, so the only information it relies on is from Tower on your device. If you have deleted Tower, it will not contact you further and will delete your data from Tower’s servers.


section 3 - disclosure

tower may disclose the information stored about you, including your contact card, if it is required by law to do so or if you violate tower’s terms of service.

consensuality:

tower is built on the principle of consensuality. all actions performed on tower are built to not violate personal information or personal security.

every action you take on tower is your decision, including requesting other user’s contact cards, accepting other user’s requests, and interacting with other users on the platform itself. you may have the option to opt-out of certain features that allow certain users to see your name or profile picture, such as setting your profile to private in tower’s settings.

users cannot access your contact card or social media profiles without you directly expressing consent by accepting their request to connect digitally or physically on tower’s ios app. you also cannot access other user’s data without receiving their consent through them accepting your request digitally or physically on tower’s ios app. if you or another user accesses data without consent through malicious means, that is a breach of this privacy policy, and will result in consequences.


section 5 - third-party services

in general, the third-party providers used by tower will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to tower.

however, certain third-party service providers, such as social medias, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information tower is required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

for these providers, tower recommends that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

in particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or tower. so, if you elect to proceed with logging into a social media that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

as an example, if you are located in canada and a social media request is processed by a social media company located in the united states of america, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under united states of america legislation, including the patriot act.

once you leave tower or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this privacy policy or our  terms of service.

to protect your personal information, tower takes reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

tower uploads your information safely and securely to its servers. if you choose to delete tower off of your device, your contact card will be removed from tower’s servers.



section 7 - using a user’s data to improve their experience

tower does not have advertisements on its platform, nor collects user’s data for the use of a third party’s profit.

all data tower collects is used to improve tower’s ios app’s design, such as placement of buttons, text, and new ways to connect. every data point tower does collect is completely anonymous and not connected to a user’s profile.

tower also records user analytics, such as what actions user’s take while using tower’s ios app. this data is also completely anonymous and not connected to a user’s profile.


section 8 - age of consent

section 9 - changes to this privacy policy

tower reserves the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. changes and clarifications will take effect immediately when tower uploads the new versions to their website. if tower makes material changes to this policy, it will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information tower collects, how tower uses it, and under what circumstances, if any, tower uses and/or discloses it.

if tower’s platform is acquired or merged with another company’s, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that it may continue to help you connect more.
